Dr Mahalakshmi Sankar is a renowned professional, she did her Masters in Business Analytics & Research, thereafter training numerous students as the Co-Ordinator of BMS and helping them shape their career.
She has been at the forefront in developing innovative strategies & has been successful in creating methods of teaching that have transformed students into leaders. Her vast experience spanning decades has given her immense knowledge to identify student traits & characteristics.
Dr Mahalakshmi Sankar has been successful in igniting the entrepreneurial spirit in students & boost their confidence to take up challenging roles & reinvent themselves.
Her approach towards education has been unique & her primary motive was to give personalized attention to every student & cater to their needs. As the Head of the BMS Department, she has inculcated values in her students that will help them reach new heights in their career. Being the course coordinator for the most popular course in the college for more than a decade, the department of management studies at VESASC rose to great heights under her leadership.
Even during the COVID era where students faced trouble adapting to online education, she handled the situation with total proficiency & managed more than 145 subjects cutting across the domains of marketing, finance and HR as the coordinator of the lead college under Mumbai University.
Besides as a member of important committees played the following defining roles - Head of the Placement committee- The First-ever placement drive was conceptualized and executed under her leadership which helped in placing students of VES Institute.

Magazine Committee:
She has played a key role in the Editorial Team in the documentation & editing of the magazine for more than a decade.

Examination committee:
As the evaluation system underwent dynamic changes and the college kept adding courses to its kitty effectively rose to the occasion to manage all the examinations comprising of nearly 3000 students in the SFC section. Technological up-gradation was a part of this learning.

IQAC:
As the think tank of the college IQAC played a significant role in shaping the college activities particularly during the covid period. As part of the committee, she was a part of organizing conferences, webinars and was also head of one of the criteria related to NAAC -student support and progression.
The role of a teacher is to ignite the imagination of the students to explore beyond the syllabus and for this, it is necessary to adopt a process-based learning approach in the classroom where teachers and learners work as co-actors towards learning. In this liaison, it is the responsibility of the teacher to guide the students towards futuristic ideas and models. In order to gain knowledge of emerging domains and areas Dr. Sankar attended numerous orientation and research workshops and was always awarded great grades.
